Product information "°dH-Downgrade Filter Cartridge"
The hardness level indicates how much lime is in the water. Especially with well water and in regions and areas where gypsum and limestone are present, the hardness level is a crucial factor when it comes to using this water for daily use and the preparation of drinks and food. The harder the water, the more easily kitchen appliances can become scaled. When filtering water with reverse osmosis, the membranes will calcify over time depending on the hardness of the incoming water.
Hard water contains many calcium and magnesium ions. These can cause problems such as lime soap and limescale formation. The °dH-Downgrade works in water treatment like an ion exchanger, using Zeolite A. Zeolite A is an aluminosilicate and acts as a water softener. The water becomes softer.
The °dH-Downgrade pre-filter can be connected to the current BestWater Ultimate series. As a pre-filter, it is installed instead of the first sediment pre-filter and ensures soft drinking water. After about 6 months or 2,500 to 3,000 litres of water, the °dH-Downgrade should be replaced.
